Double Negative Index Metamaterial: Simultaneous Negative Permeability and Permittivity at 812 nm

Abstract

A negative index metamaterial demonstrating n = −1.0 + 0.8i with both negative effective permittivity and permeability at 813 nm of linearly polarized light is fabricated. It also exhibits a negative refractive index at 772 nm for orthogonal polarization.
