Effect of pumping configuration on the transverse mode instability power threshold in a 3.02 kW fiber laser oscillator

Abstract

Transverse mode instability power threshold in a 3.02 kW fiber oscillator has been compared in co-, counter-, and bidirectional pumping schemes and results show that the threshold is higher in the bidirectional pumping configuration.
