Optical Automatic Gain Controller for High-Bandwidth Free-Space Optical Communication Links

Abstract

We developed an optical automatic gain controller for free-space optical communications with a noise figure of 4.1 dB to maximize link margin and a dynamic range of > 60 dB to overcome link dynamics.
