Low-energy electrodynamics and optical signatures of excitonic insulator state in Ta2NiSe5

Abstract

We performed infrared pump-terahertz probe spectroscopy on the excitonic insulator, Ta2NiSe5. Parametric amplification of an IR-active phonon exhibits an order parameter-like temperature dependence, suggesting a novel approach to monitor exciton condensate dynamics.
