Large optical nonlinearity in Epsilon-Near-Zero metamaterials in the visible regime

Abstract

We demonstrate metamaterials composed of sub-wavelength multilayer metal-dielectric stacks designed to exhibit an epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) response anywhere within the visible spectrum. We also experimentally demonstrate nonlinear optical enhancement in their ENZ regime.
