Analysis and Elimination of Shrinkage Phenomenon of Photonic Crystal Fiber during Fusion Splicing

Abstract

The impact of shrinkage phenomenon of photonic crystal fiber during fusion splicing is analyzed. A method based on temperature distribution analysis is proposed to eliminate the detrimental phenomenon. The splice loss and strength are improved.
