Refractive Index Sensing With 1D Photonic Crystal

Abstract

A refractive index sensor is proposed based on the cavity mode formed in a thin analyte layer sandwiched between multilayers of SiO2/Ta2O5, and a metal film. This study opens up alternatives to the SPR based biochemical sensors.
