Abstract

A temperature sensor based on a Mach-Zehnder interferometer is proposed. Developed using tapering optical fiber technique in a SMF-28 optical fiber. In the SMF-28 fiber the Mach- Zehnder interferometer is fabricated with two concatenated tapers, with a waist diameter of 25 ~ 40 µm and a length of 5mm to 10 mm, and a separation between the tapers about of 4~7 cm.
