Giant Enhancement in Nonlinear Optical-Atomic Magnetometry

Abstract

We demonstrate a cross-polarization wave-mixing nonlinear atomic magnetometer that results in >500X optical signal signal-to-noise ratio enhancement with perfect field sensitivity preservation and significant reduction of laser power, opening a myriad of applications in bio-magnetism.
