Liquid crystal-modulated spontaneous emission via plasmonic waveguide cladded with low index metamaterials

Abstract

Using the liquid crystal-metal-low index metamaterial waveguide which supports surface plasmon polaritons, we theoretically demonstrate an active modulation of spontaneous emission. It can be modulated from 131γ0 to 327γ0 by varying optical axis.
