Revivals in the Jaynes-Cummings model in terms of characteristic functions

Abstract

Through the periodicity of characteristic functions, we find that atomic population revivals in the Jaynes-Cummings model are replicas of each other that have experienced dispersion akin to that of free particles in quantum mechanics.
