Radiative lifetime changes in the vicinity of a nanofiber: dielectric, and alignment effects

Abstract

We measure the radiative lifetime of the D2 line of atomic rubidium in the evanescent mode of a nanofiber and find enhancements and suppressions depending on the nanofiber size and the atomic-dipole orientation.
