Refractometric Sensing with Crystalline MgF2 Whispering Gallery Mode Resonators

Abstract

We report on a refractometric sensor based on crystalline MgF2 Whispering Gallery Mode resonators. High sensitivity, small resonance line widths and good thermal stability provide a limit of detection of 4×10−6 refractive index units.
