Rydberg Interaction Assisted Light Shift Blockade of Collective Excitations for Quantum Information Processing

Abstract

We show that semi-classical light-shift imbalance induced blockade (LSIIB) for collective excitation necessarily requires direct interaction between excited atoms. We then show an explicit scheme for semi-classical LSIIB by employing Rydberg interactions with Raman transitions.
