Light Trapping for Managing Broadband Radiation: Sunlight and Thermal Emission

Abstract

The processes of energy conversion between light and other forms of energy are heavily influenced by the photonic structures used. We will discuss some fundamental aspects regarding how photonic structures may influence light absorption and thermal emission efficiency. A new concept of thermal extraction will be also introduced.
