Nonlinear Optics in Photonic Crystals - Opportunities and Limitations

Abstract

Slow light photonic crystal waveguides offer the opportunity of enhancing nonlinear optical effects and they uniquely combine resonant enhancement with sizeable bandwidth. We discuss progress in nonlinear devices and ultrafast tunable optical delay lines.
