Fast All Optical NAND Gate Using Coherent Control of the Linear Susceptibility of Five Level Atoms

Abstract

We present a 5-level atomic configuration functioning as an optical NAND logic gate with the linear absorption of a probe laser as the gate output. Implementation in alkali atomic vapors and optical fibers is discussed.
