Temperature dependence of the polarization and linewidth of the optical transitions of single NV centers in diamond

Abstract

Polarization and photoluminescence excitation spectroscopy are used to measure the nitrogen-vacancy center optical transition polarization and linewidth as a function of temperature. Finite relaxation and line-broadening is observed even at temperatures below 25 K.
