Surmounting Barriers: The Benefit of Hydrodynamic Interactions

Abstract

We investigate the properties of colloidal particles driven along a toroidal trap. Due to hydrodynamic interactions amongst the particles, this leads to a rather surprising collective behavior which is experimentally and theoretically investigated.
