Abstract

The technical feasibility, pre-FEC BER < 3E-4, of a 4 × 100 Gbps optical WDM system based on direct-detection orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with 32-QAM is numerically demonstrated for data interconnection. The system performance increases as the Mach-Zehnder modulator balance grows.
