Two dimensional photonic crystals based on uniaxial polar materials: Influence of the shape of the dielectric polaritonic core

Abstract

The dispersion relation of two-dimensional photonic crystals that show transverse phonon-polariton excitations are studied for transverse magnetic electromagnetic modes. Different cross-sectional geometries of the polaritonic core are considered within a triangular lattice environment.
