Ionic Dissociation Measurement in Liquid Media using a Tapered Fiber Sensor

Abstract

A novel application of a temperature compensated tapered gradual index fiber sensor was developed for measuring local ionization level changes in liquid media by means of refractive index changes. An induced photolytic ionization by UV laser was executed as a demonstration of system performance.
