Long-period Grating Assisted 0.5th Order Fractional Differentiation for Instantaneous Frequency Measurement

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate that a long-period grating specially designed to provide a 0.5th-order spectrally-shifted fractional-order differentiation on a input light pulse, can easily retrieve its instantaneous frequency profile.
