Adaptive Coded Modulation for Future Optical Networks

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

In this talk, the advantages of adaptive modulation and coding for future optical networks are discussed. We use an information-theoretic approach and consider different network topologies as well as both hard-decision and soft-decicion forward error correction strategies.
