Abstract
Surface plasmons supported by metallic nanostructures, provide new opportunities for enhanced sensing and photodetection. Two mechanisms- hot electron generation resulting from plasmon decay, and high-intensity, nanoscale local fields- will be discussed in this context. Article not available.
