Application of Mid-IR Laser Spectroscopy for the Analysis of Surgical Smoke

Abstract

The composition of surgical smoke was quantitatively analyzed by employing infrared laser spectroscopy. In vitro and in vivo samples were compared. In addition to smoke components, the anesthetic sevoflurane was identified in samples from laparoscopy.
