Enhancement of 266 nm laser induced LIBS emission using a simultaneous 10.6 µm CO2 laser pulse

Abstract

A Deep-UV Eye-Safe LIBS system has been constructed for standoff detection. A Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser operating at 266nm was used for plasma generation. A simultaneous CO2 laser was used to enhance the LIBS signal.
