Abstract

Ytterbium-doped transparent oxyfluoride glass-ceramics (GCs) were fabricated via traditional melt-quenching route for laser cooling applications. A significant enhancement in photoluminescence (PL) emission, quantum yield and PL lifetime is reported highlighting the impact of purification using chelated assisted extraction technique.
