Surface plasmon resonance mediated random lasing in thin film metamaterials

Abstract

We demonstrate efficient random lasing from periodic gratings decorated with silver nanograins. The propagating surface plasmon resonances of periodic nanograins control the pump coupling, which eventually regulates the random lasing properties of the system.
