All-optical Terahertz Modulation Based on WSe2-silicon Hybrid Structures

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate an all-optical modulation for terahertz waves based on an atomic monolayer WSe2-silicon hybrid structure. Compared with the modulation from naked silicon substrate, the modulation depth is scaled up by ~40%.
