Abstract

Terahertz (THz) radiation from plasma bifilament with a dc biased field is investigated experimentally. The plasma bifilament is generated from two collinear femtoseond laser pulses. The THz waves radiated from the bifilament are detected by the typical electro-optic sampling method. It is found that the THz radiation is weakened by the second laser filament in the presence of a dc biased field, which is different from that of bifilament without dc biased field reported previously. The possible reason for this phenomenon is discussed preliminaryly.
