Abstract

The absorption spectrum of gas-fat coal (GFC), in the frequency range 1 to 9 THz is investigated by FTIR and computer simulation. There are two absorption lines in absorption spectrum agree well with simulation. The power transmittance of the coal tar, a complex mixture composed of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and heterocyclic compounds is measured using a time-domain spectroscopic (THz-TDS) system and over 60% transmittance @1 THz is obtained.
