Abstract

Long period fiber gratings were written directly on multi-core fiber (MCF) with high frequency CO2laser. The two resonant depths offer the capabilities for achieving measurement of temperature and strain. The maximum temperature sensitivity was 70.3 pm/℃ and the strain sensitivity was 0.00307 dB/με. The measurement matrix obtained by resonant depth (dip 2) can avoid cross sensitivity and realize the simultaneous measurement of temperature or strain.
