Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the simplified decoding of the trellis-based error-correcting modulation codes using M-algorithm for holographic data storage. The M-algorithm, which sacrifices the bit error rate performance, can reduce the complexity of the Viterbi algorithm. When the M-algorithm is used in the trellis-based error-correcting modulation codes, the delay and complexity problem can be reduced.
