Dynamic Range Compression for Visual Display of Thermal Infrared Imagery

Not Accessible

Your library or personal account may give you access

Abstract

Thermal infrared imagery is typically digitized to greater than 8-bits. Common dynamic range mappings to 8-bit displays lose information. The approach presented leverages gamma correction and image sharpening to preserve relative radiance and avoid saturation.
