Abstract

Filling in of solar Fraunhofer lines due to rotational Raman scattering in the atmosphere is used for retrieval of aerosol properties from satellite hyperspectral measurements in UV. Comparisons of the retrieved aerosol height and single scattering albedo with CALIOP and OMI data show a reasonable agreement.
