Abstract
In coherent optical sources (lasers and OPOs), spatio-temporal dynamics studies present difficulties, in particular because time-resolved analysis of spatio-temporal structures are often difficult to perform. Free-Electron Laser oscillators (FELs) are lasers which constitute an exception to this rule. Indeed, though the experimental setups are at first view complicated and involve picosecond-scale evolutions, the characteristic time-scales relevant in the dynamics allow real-time recordings of both spatial and spectral structures.
