Abstract

Quantum correlations have been intensively studied for twin-beams generated by parametric downconversion (PDC) in χ⁽²⁾ media and intensity correlations below the shot-noise limit (SNL) have been demonstrated in the macroscopic regime in the cases of parametric oscillators, of seeded amplifiers and, for lower photon numbers, of traveling-wave amplifiers based on spontaneous PDC (SPDC).
