Improvement of nonlinear distortions with cascaded Mach-Zehnder modulator

Abstract

Usually a conventional single-stage Mach-Zehnder modulator is employed in practical optoelectronic systems. However, when the two tone inputs of V1,ac sin(w1t) and V2,acsin(w2t) are simultaneously applied to it, seriously nonlinear distortions will deteriorate the signal linear performance [1,2].
