Quantum noise of quasi-single-mode laser diodes

Abstract

Pump-noise suppression has proved to be an efficient technique for generating sub-shot-noise light from laser diodes [1]. However the very mechanisms capable of explaining why some laser diodes and not other ones were exhibiting this property are still under active investigation [2-6].
