Abstract
We report on the first experimental demonstration of self-switching of picosecond pulses in novel multiply-resonant rocking filters fabircated in photosensitive elliptical-core fibers. In these devices the principal axes are twisted by photoinducing a birefringence across the core [1] and a resonance occurs whenever the twist period is some multiple of the birefringence beat length [2].
