Abstract

We describe recent experiments which investigate nuclear and electronic dynamics during molecular dissociation on excited electronic potential energy surfaces by the technique of polarized emission spectroscopy. The studies provide a dynamic link to what can be learned from measurements of the final product quantum states; they also investigate the critical role played by nonadiabatic interactions in molecular dissociation.
