Abstract

Since their first observation by Slusher et al.,1 several groups have reported the detection of squeezed states of light either through parametric or four-wave mixing generation. The generation of twin photon beams is a strongly connected subject. Heidmann et al.2 have shown that a parametric oscillator operating above threshold produces two beams having intensities correlated to better than the shot noise level. We describe here the results obtained with a ring four-wave mixing oscillator.
