Abstract

Applying chromium ions as a co-doping of the rare-earth ions in scandium garnets made it possible to solve a problem of raising the pulsed solid-state lasers efficiency /I/. The active medium absorptivity of the pulsed pump energy is more than tenfol higher in the presence of chromium ions, moreover electron excital ion energy is effectively transfered from chromium absorption bands over the upper neodymium or another rare-earth ion lasing levels.
