Abstract

Dynamics of 2-dimensional excitons has been studied in ZnTe-ZnSe superlattices which have been synthesized by a hot wall epitaxy method. Radiative recombination of the excitons at 4.2 K takes place as a tunneling-assisted process with a lifetime of 1.25 ns, while at 50 K the lifetime of the excitons is decreased to 150 ps due to the dissociation to donor-acceptor pairs.
