Abstract

Recently, a new class of coherent light beans, called diffraction-free beams, have been studied by Durnin and coworkers/1,2/. These beams conserve the transverse intensity distribution while propagating in free space. The field of a diffraction-free bean can be expressed by a superposition of plane waves whose wave vectors lie on a cone.
