Optical bistability with the combined effects of dispersion and increasing absorption in InSb

Abstract

Optical bistability with the combined effects of dispersion and increasing absorption was predicted by Wherrett et al.1 and observed by Kar and Wherrett2 in ZnSe. We report the first observation of this phenomenon in the InSb etalon.
