Abstract
The coupling characteristics and nonlinear all-optical controlled switching/modulation behavior of a GaAs/AlGaAs multiple-quantum-well (MQW) structure with self-defocusing nonlinearities are studied analytically and numerically exactly. An exact dispersion equation of the GaAs-based multiple-quantum-well-coupled waveguiding structure shown in Fig. 1 is derived in terms of Jacobi elliptical functions and analyzed numerically.
