Abstract

Sarid1 predicted that a long-range surface-plasmon mode (LRSPM) can be excited on a thin metal film sandwiched between two index-matched dielectric media. But until now, to our knowledge, the LRSPM guided by a metal-clad waveguide has not been discussed. In this paper, we report the first theoretical analysis and experimental observations on this subject.
