Abstract
Quantum electronics represents a type case of the interplay between basic science and practical applications and also of the increasing possibility of utilizing nature’s micromechanisms. The significance of quantum electronics to science and applications and its possible future will be broadly considered. (Plenary paper, 40 min.)
